I am Valerie Alston, a native of South Carolina. I started my life here in Charlotte in 2004 after college and I have fallen in love with the Queen City. I am a graduate of Pfeiffer University with a bachelor’s in Business Management. For seventeen years I worked in corporate banking in Retirement Services Unit. I transitioned to the Real Estate industry in 2019. Why Real Estate for me? Real Estate gives me the ability to assist individuals and families get into homes makes me feel like a Superhero. Knowing the joy of turning a key that allows you to enter your safe-haven, tugs at my heart strings. A sense of pride overwhelms me, and I love that feeling. My parents raised my siblings and I to always invest in real estate, so one may say that it has been instilled in me as a child. The joy it brings seeing other excited about their home and their future for their home makes my heart thrive. The excitement it brings to me knowing that I was a key component to help aid in the process of their homeownership dreams come true. Since being in the business I had tunnel vision and could only see me helping clients into a home and I forgot that families sell their homes as well. Now that’s a different feeling, knowing that I helped someone transition to their next phase of life. Rather it’s because they are moving to another home to expand or downsize depending on what their home structure at the time. I am a mother of two wonderful children and being an agent allows me the flexibility to be their when I need to be for them.
